Provided are a multi-stage compression air-conditioning system and control method thereof, the system comprising: a two-stage compression system (12), comprising a low-stage compression assembly (121), a high-stage compression assembly (122), a condenser (123), a first throttling device (124), a flasher (125), a third throttling device (126), and an evaporator (127), which are connected in sequence; between the air exhaust port of the low-stage compression assembly (121) and the air intake port of the high-stage compression assembly (122) is a first pipeline (13); also comprising an exhaust cooling pipeline (11); one end is in communication with the condenser (123); a small amount of refrigerant in the condenser (123) is conducted to the first pipeline (13). By means of adjusting the opening of the second throttling device (111) on the exhaust cooling pipeline (11), the air suction temperature of the advanced compression component (122) approach the saturated gas phase temperature under the pressure, further reducing overheating loss.
