Abstract:
Provided are a multicast switch array and a multibeam steering device using same. A beam steering device comprises: a switch array including multiple switches connected to a first waveguide to which light is input; and multiple grating couplers connected to the multiple switches, wherein the multiple switches are arranged in line on the plane of a substrate along the first waveguide, and each of the multiple switches provides a second waveguide for delivering light to one of the multiple grating couplers according to switching on/off of the each of the switches. Therefore, it is possible to precisely steer a large-scale multibeam.
