Abstract:
The present invention provides a multifunctional powder-containing resin composition that has no adverse effect on the human body, has significant antimicrobial and antiseptic effects, and exhibits extremely high material cost-effectiveness. This powder-containing resin composition is formed by mixing/kneading, in a resin composition, a calcium hydrate fine powder obtained by firing egg shells or seashells at high temperature and adding water thereto, with a calcium carbonate fine powder derived of eggs shells or seashells, or a fine powder of a fiber material, such as wood chips and paper (pulp), in a predetermined ratio. Such a powder-containing resin composition has excellent antimicrobial activity and is highly safe to the human body, and thus can be used as a material for production of antimicrobial eating utensils such as chopsticks and spoons.
