Abstract:
This invention relates to a safety system for preventing the disconcerting sudden movements by inhibiting the activation of the engine when the vehicle is geared in the buses and similar vehicles those have manual gear boxes. In order to provide this, a sensor (4) is placed on the gear box (5) of the vehicle which senses whether the vehicle is geared or not.

Claims:

CLAIMS

1. A safety system related to the activation of the engine in the buses or similar vehicles those have manual gear boxes, and it is characterized in that;

- comprising a sensor (4) on the gear box (5) and sensing whether the vehicle is geared or not; and a relay mounted on the electrical connection between the vehicle ignition switch (1) and the cranking motor (3) ,

- the mentioned sensor (4) activates the relay (2) by sending signals when the vehicle is geared and blocks the electrical connection between the vehicle ignition switch (1) and the cranking motor (3) , and as a result the engine does not start when the vehicle is geared.

NON ACTIVATION OF THE ENGINE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS GEARED

Subject of the invention

This invention relates to non activation of the engine when the vehicle is geared as a safety precaution in the buses and similar vehicles those have manual gear boxes.

State of Prior Art

In the present state of art, in the motor vehicles those have manual gear boxes, activation of the engine is independent from the situation that the vehicle is whether geared or not. The engine can be activated even when the vehicle is geared. Turning the ignition switch when the vehicle is geared results in forward or backward movement of the vehicle disconcertingly and suddenly. Unless the handbrake of the vehicle is pulled, the vehicle might bang into the objects and people those stay in the front or at the back of the vehicle and result in dangerous accidents.

Detailed Description of the invention

With this invention an improvement was provided in the safety precautions for the activation of the engine in the vehicles those have manual gear boxes. The activation of the engine occurs only when the vehicle gear is in neutral position. This advantage is provided by a sensor (4) which is placed on the gear box (5) and which senses the vehicle's gear position; and a relay (2) which is placed on the electrical

connection between the vehicle ignition switch (1) and the cranking motor (3) .

The sensor (4) which is placed on the gear box (5) sends signals to the relay (2) when the vehicle is in geared position. During this period of receiving electrical signals, the relay (2) blocks the electrical connection between the vehicle ignition switch (1) and the cranking motor (3) .

Therefore, since the vehicle can not be started when it is geared, it is prevented from moving forward or backward suddenly and disconcertingly.

Moreover, with this invention, children or people who do not know to use the car are prevented from starting the car while it is geared so, general safety is increased.

Figure 1: The schematic display of signal sending to the relay (2) , which is mounted between the ignition switch (1) and the cranking motor (3) , in accordance with the gear situation information of sensor (4) that is placed on the gear box (5) .
