Abstract:
The present invention provides a non-excitation operative brake (10) wherein a friction plate (12) is opposed to an inner disk (11a) of an attraction plate (11) made from a magnetic material, and an electromagnet (13) is opposed to an outer disk (11c) of the attraction plate (11). A part for generating a brake force acting on a hollow motor shaft (3) is located on an inner circumferential side in a radial direction of the attraction plate (11), whereas a part for magnetically attracting the attraction plate (11) so as to release the brake force is located on an outer circumferential side in the radial direction of the attraction plate (11). The present invention thus provides a flat non-excitation operative brake having a reduced length in a direction of an axial line (3a).
