Abstract:
Provided are a non-transitory computer-readable medium and an embroidery data generation method with which it is possible to select thread colors suitable for expressing an image and to create embroidery data. The non-transitory computer-readable medium includes an instruction for causing a computer to perform the following steps: acquiring image data representing an image and acquiring a plurality of available colors available for stitching of an embroidery pattern (S1, S4); determining a first color representing a region of interest in the image, selecting, as candidates from the plurality of available colors, colors that, when combined with an allocated color allocated as a color representing the region of interest, approximates the first color, and adding to the allocated color a candidate of which the difference between color information representing the allocated color and color information representing the candidate is smaller than a threshold value (S5); and generating embroidery data in which thread color data indicating a color selected from the allocated colors is associated with position data designating a position for processing with a thread of the color indicated by the thread color data representing the region of interest (S7).
