Abstract:
Provided are a non-transitory computer readable medium and an embroidery data generation method wherein, when dividing an embroidery pattern larger in size than a sewing area into a plurality of partial patterns smaller than the sewing area, the degree of freedom in determining the arrangement of the plurality of partial patterns in the sewing area is improved. The embroidery data generation method involves: acquiring the size of a sewing area to be set inside an embroidery frame, and setting a hypothetical arrangement of a plurality of sewing areas on a to-be-sewn object (S1, S3); acquiring a pattern, and setting a hypothetical arrangement of the pattern on the to-be-sewn object (S6, S7); changing the relative positions of the plurality of sewing areas that have been set (S12, S15); and generating, for each of the plurality of sewing areas in which the relative positions have been changed, embroidery data that includes needle points data indicating the positions of a plurality of stiches representing the pattern of a portion located within the sewing areas (S19).
