Abstract:
An object detecting device 10 detects the position of an object on the basis of the distance to the object, at least measured as a measurement result by a plurality of distance measuring sensors, and is provided with a result acquiring unit 12, a candidate point extracting unit 14, a candidate point determining unit 18, and an object detecting unit 20. The result acquiring unit acquires the measurement results from the plurality of distance measuring sensors. The candidate point extracting unit extracts candidate points representing the position of the object on the basis of the distance to the object, from among the measurement results acquired by the result acquiring unit. The candidate point determining unit determines whether each candidate point extracted by the candidate point extracting unit is a real image or a virtual image of the object. The object detecting unit detects the position of the object on the basis of the position of the candidate point of the real image, obtained by removing from the candidate points the candidate points determined by the candidate point determining unit to be virtual images.
