Abstract:
An object recognition ECU (30), which is an object recognition device, recognizes an object around a vehicle, by using image information on a sensor image, that is generated by an external camera (20) mounted on a vehicle, generated by a distance measuring sensor (10) mounted on the vehicle, in addition to using image information including a camera image obtained by detecting visible light from the outside with a camera element, the image information including a reflected light image obtained by a light receiving element sensing the near-infrared reflected light reflected from an object by light irradiation, and a background light image obtained by the light receiving element sensing the near-infrared background light for the reflected light. The object recognition ECU (30) comprises: an image information acquisition unit (41) which acquires image information on the distance measuring sensor (10) and image information on the external camera (20); and a region identification unit (43) which identifies plants around the vehicle in consideration of the difference between the intensity of the camera image and the intensity of the sensor image.
