Abstract:
An oil-free screw compressor is provided with: a screw rotor (16); a bearing (22) for supporting a rotor shaft (21); a shaft seal device (30) having an oil seal (31) which is disposed on the bearing (22) side and a gas seal (40) which is disposed on the rotor chamber (15) side; an atmosphere communication space (55) in communication with an atmosphere communication hole (31a); and an oil return groove (21a) having a sloped return surface (71) sloped so as to expand in diameter toward the outside in the radial direction from a gas seal-side end section (72) to an oil seal-side end section (73). An oil seal section (32) is a visco seal comprising a helical groove section (62). The inner peripheral surface (51) of the oil seal has an inner peripheral boundary section (58) which, on the bearing side of the atmosphere communication hole, defines a part of the atmosphere communication space. The oil seal-side end section (73) is disposed near the inner peripheral boundary section at a position on the bearing side.
