Abstract:
The present invention relates to an olefin-based resin (β) satisfying the following requirements (I) to (VI). (I) The olefin-based resin (β) includes an olefin-based graft polymer [R1] comprising a main chain consisting of an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer and a side chain consisting of an ethylene polymer. (II) The olefin-based resin (β), in an examination by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), shows a fusion peak in the range of 60-130°C and has a quantity of heat of fusion ΔH due to the fusion peak in the range of 5-100 J/g. (III) The proportion E of components soluble in orthodichlorobenzene having a temperature of 20°C or lower, as determined with a cross-fractionation chromatograph (CFC), is 65 mass% or less. (IV) The glass transition temperature Tg, as determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), is in the range of -80 to -65°C. (V) The intrinsic viscosity [ƞ] measured in 135°C decalin is in the range of 0.5-1.2 dl/g. (VI) The MFR obtained at 190°C and a load of 2.16 kg in accordance with ASTM D1238E is in the range of 35-180 g/10 min. This olefin-based resin has excellent pellet handleability and, when used as a modifier for polypropylene resins, can give propylene-based resin compositions having an excellent balance among flowability, impact resistance, and a low coefficient of linear expansion.
