Abstract:
Provided is an ophthalmic medical instrument including a photochromic polymer that is obtained from a photochromic monomer and that exhibits high transparency in a non-active state. The ophthalmic medical instrument according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a photochromic polymer obtained by polymerizing monomer components including a photochromic monomer and a lactam ring-containing monomer, wherein the content proportion of said lactam ring-containing monomer in said monomer components is 10-50 wt%. This ophthalmic medical instrument is provided typically in the form of a contact lens or an intraocular lens.
