Abstract:
An opposed-piston engine according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first fuel injection device configured to inject fuel into at least one cylinder from the circumferential wall surface of said cylinder; and a second fuel injection device disposed at an offset in the circumferential direction so as to oppose the first fuel injection device across the axis of the cylinder. The first fuel injection device and the second fuel injection device respectively comprise, in cross sections orthogonal to the axial direction, a plurality of injection ports having mutually different injection directions. A first downstream injection port is configured to inject in a direction passing through a second injection region, and a second downstream injection port is configured to inject in a direction passing through a first injection region.
