Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an optical communication system and an optical communication method that can also reduce delay generated in processing for obtaining a transfer function for performing distortion correction in digital coherent transmission. The optical communication system according to the present invention transmits pilot data for estimating the transfer function in a transmission channel by a transmission channel which is short in transmission delay time, estimates the transfer function of the transmission channel prior to reception of transmission data, and applies the transfer function to another transmission channel.
