Abstract:
An optical device according to the present invention comprises: a phosphor member that contains a phosphor capable of fluorescing at a prescribed wavelength by being irradiated with excitation light, and that has an excitation-light-receiving face and a fluorescence-emitting face; a transparent carrier that has a surface that faces the excitation-light-receiving face of the phosphor member; a dichroic mirror disposed on the surface, of the transparent carrier, that faces the phosphor member; and a transparent joining layer disposed between the phosphor member and the dichroic mirror. The transparent joining layer comprises a first layer disposed on the phosphor member, and a second layer disposed on the dichroic mirror. Opposing surfaces of the first layer and the second layer are directly joined.
