Abstract:
Provided is an optical granular material sorter that is capable of reducing the rate of conforming products being caught up and blown off and, even when multiple nonconforming products or the like fall while overlapped, is capable of blowing off all of the nonconforming products. The sorter comprises a control unit for controlling the time for jetting a compressed gas from an air-jetting unit on the basis of detection results from an optical detection unit. The control unit comprises a comparison unit for comparing a defect detection time by the optical detection unit for the material being sorted with a previously established single grain passage time and a calculation unit for calculating a jetting time by multiplying the defect detection time with a prescribed coefficient on the basis of the comparison results by the comparison unit. When the defect detection time is equal to or less than the established single grain passage time as a result of the comparison by the comparison unit, the calculation unit multiplies the defect detection time with a smaller coefficient than when the defect detection time exceeds the established single grain passage time to calculate the jetting time, and the time for jetting the compressed gas from the air-jetting unit is controlled on the basis of the calculation results.
