Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an optical module having a structure with which the module can be reduced in size. [Solution] The optical module according to the present invention has a structure in which a portion of a fiber block 13 projects from a housing 11. As a result of comprising a thin plate 21, the optical module can prevent the intrusion of dust into the housing 11, while also allowing for positional displacement of the fiber block 13 due to errors in the mounting position of an optical component 12 in the housing 11, positional displacement of an opening 10 due to dimensional errors in the housing 11, or displacement caused by a temperature change, and the optical module can reduce a connection loss resulting from deviation in the optical axis.
