Abstract:
The present invention provides an optical scanning device capable of reducing a change in the projection area due to a fluctuation in scanning amplitude. The optical scanning device comprises: a light source; a scanning unit for projecting light onto an object surface by scanning the light from the light source; a polarizing optical system which is provided on the optical path from the light source to the object surface and polarizes the light; a detection unit for detecting the scanning amplitude or the scanning angle produced by the scanning unit; and a control unit for adjusting the projection area of the light on the object surface by adjusting the polarization angle of the polarizing optical system on the basis of the scanning amplitude or the scanning angle.
