The present invention provides: an optically anisotropic film having greater refractive index anisotropy and exhibiting reverse wavelength dispersibility; a polarizing plate; an image display device; a composition; and a compound. The optically anisotropic film of the present invention is formed by using a composition containing a compound represented by formula (1) and exhibits reverse wavelength dispersibility.
