Abstract:
This invention addresses the problem of providing an optically anisotropic layer that suppresses haze and is exceptionally suitable for winding, and an optical film, polarizing plate, and image display device comprising the optically anisotropic layer. The optically anisotropic layer is obtained through the polymerization of a polymerizable liquid crystal composition including a polymerizable liquid crystal compound. Given amplitude values L for each wavelength obtained by subjecting three-dimensional surface roughness data for the optically anisotropic layer to a Fourier transform, the amplitude values L for wavelengths of 5.0 μm or greater are 0.125 or greater and the amplitude values L for wavelengths of 2.0-2.5 μm are 0.025 or less.
