Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of avoiding an increase in size of an outer handle device for a vehicle door, while achieving interlock and connection of a handle lever with a connection arm part by using a small number of parts. A handle lever 31 is supported by a handle base 14, and when a connection arm part 16 is inserted into an insertion hole 19, the handle lever 31 can be pushed by the tip portion of the connection arm part 16. Thus, an engaging piece 40 is rotatably connected to the handle lever 31 while elastically biased toward an engaging position side, the engaging piece 40 being allowed to rotate between the engaging position up to which the engaging piece 40 enters into the insertion hole 19 and a retracting position up to which the engaging piece 40 is displaced by being pushed by the tip portion of the connection arm part 16. A locking part 45 is installed on the connection arm part 16, the engaging part 45 engaging the engaging piece 40 while enabling the engaging piece 40 to be rotated from the retracting position to the engaging position as the connection arm part 16 is inserted into the insertion hole 19 up to a non-operating position when an outer handle 12 is assembled to the handle base 14.
