Abstract:
Provided is an overturn prevention device capable of easily determining whether or not the overturn prevention device is properly mounted. This overturn prevention device (1) is mounted between the upper surface of a piece of furniture (F) (article) and a ceiling (C). The overturn prevention device (1) is provided with a damper (10). The damper (10) comprises a cylinder (11), a rod (13), a piston (14) and a rod cover (16). A hydraulic oil (L) (hydraulic liquid) and compressed gas (G) (gas) are sealed within the cylinder (11). The rod (13) is inserted into the cylinder (11) in a reciprocally movable manner. The piston (14) is slidably accommodated in the cylinder (11) and connected to the base end of the rod (13). The rod cover (16) is connected to the distal end side of the rod (13) and reciprocally moves with the rod (13), and when the piston (14) is immersed in the hydraulic oil (L), the opening side end of the rod cover is positioned closer to the bottom side end of the cylinder than to the opening side end of the cylinder.
