Abstract:
Provided is a panoramic video image synthesis device that suppresses a double image or omission of a subject even if the subject moves so as to cross through an overlapping area between cameras. A panoramic video image synthesis device that synthesizes a panoramic video image in which multiple video images are combined, wherein the panoramic video image synthesis device comprises: an afterimage image generation unit 10 that acquires, from frame images that constitute each of multiple video images of different view angles, a background image that serves as a background of the panoramic video image and a reference image that serves as a reference of the panoramic video image, extracts, from a difference between the background image and a frame image, a movement area in which a subject moves, and generates an afterimage image in which movement areas extracted in frame image order are superimposed; a feature point calculation unit 20 that finds a plurality of feature points respectively from the reference image and the afterimage image, generates a feature point set in which the feature points are summed, and calculates a feature quantity of each feature point; and a conversion parameter generation unit 30 that compares the feature points of the feature point set before and after a frame image to retrieve feature points with matching feature quantities, and generates, from a difference in the coordinates of the feature points, a first conversion parameter representing a degree to which the frame image is distorted.
