Abstract:
The invention suppresses the occurrence of paper feed failures of a medium due to removing and replacing a paper feed tray in a housing. A paper feed unit 3 includes: a second paper feed tray 61 that can rotatably house a roll P2a, which is a medium P2 wound into a roll; a housing 60 that removably supports the second paper feed tray 61; and a retracting mechanism 70. The retracting mechanism 70 retracts the medium P2 fed out from the roll P2a in conjunction with the operation to remove the second paper feed tray 61 from the housing 60 by moving the second paper feed tray 61 to the front.
