Abstract:

A paper sheet handling device (100) includes a first facing unit (10) and a second facing unit (20) disposed facing each other in a facing direction (D1) across a loading space (S1) into which a paper sheet (B) is loaded, and a transport unit (40) that transports the paper sheet in a state in which the transport unit (40) is projecting from a first opening (11a) of the first facing unit toward the loading space. The first facing unit has a first shutter (12) that releasably closes the first opening, and is disposed to be movable, in the facing direction, to a loading position (P11) during loading of the paper sheet and to a transport position (P12) during transport of the paper sheet. The first facing unit and the transport unit each have first shutter opening/closing parts (13, 14, 15, 42) that, when the first facing unit moves from the loading position to the transport position, engage with each other and open the first shutter to release the first opening.
