Title:
PARTICULATE WATER ABSORBENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/095806
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
[Problem] To improve the residual ratio of a chelating agent in a particulate water absorbent, which is the final product, in a mode wherein the chelating agent is added in an upstream step such as a polymerization step in the production process. [Solution] A particulate water absorbent which is mainly composed of a poly(meth)acrylic acid (salt)-based water absorbent resin, while containing a chelating agent having a nitrogen atom and an inorganic reducing agent having a sulfur atom, wherein the chelating agent ratio as calculated by the steps (a) to (c) described below is from 0.8 to 1.8.
(a) A predetermined impact test is performed on the particulate water absorbent.
(b) The particulate water absorbent, on which the impact test has been performed, is sieved into particle group 1 having a particle diameter of less than 300 μm and a particle group 2 having a particle diameter of 300 μm or more but less than 850 μm by means of JIS standard sieves.
(c) After determining the quantity of a chelating agent content C1 that is present in particle group 1 and the quantity of a chelating agent content C2 that is present in particle group 2, C1 is divided by C2.
