Abstract:

If a vehicle is deemed to have arrived at the destination of a passenger by a destination arrival determination unit which determines whether the vehicle has arrived at the destination of a passenger, this passenger assistance device determines, by means of a state determination unit, whether the passenger is deemed to be in a state in which it is safe to disembark from the vehicle, on the basis of sensing results of a surroundings detection sensor which detects the state of the surroundings of the vehicle, and if the passenger is deemed to be in a state in which it is safe to disembark from the vehicle, the locking of the door of the vehicle is unlocked by a door lock control unit.
