Abstract:
The present invention increases the efficiency of processing relating to preparing change when receiving cash for payment. A payment device 10 calculates a payment amount by totaling the prices of goods that have been registered (S1), receives cash from a user (S2), and calculates, as a change amount, the difference between the payment amount and a received amount, which is the total amount of the cash that was received (S3). The payment device 10 generates a two-dimensional barcode in which the change amount and a notification destination have been encoded (S4), and outputs said barcode by displaying or printing the barcode (S5). A terminal device 70 of the user reads the two-dimensional barcode (S6), and charging of electronic money is executed by transmitting the change amount, the notification destination, and the user's account to a management server 80 (S7). After charging, the management server 80 notifies the payment device 10 indicated as the notification destination that charging is complete (S8). The payment device 10 receives the notification of charging completion from the management server 80 and ends the processing for issuing change.
