Abstract:
Enzyme compositions having the activity of hydrolyzing pectins; a process for producing these compositions; and a method for scouring cotton fibers with the use of the same. These compositions have a ratio of the pectic acid-hydrolyzing activity (A) to the pectin-hydrolyzing activity (B) represented by the formula 0.001 $m(F) B/A $m(F) 100. Cotton fibers and/or fibers containing cotton fibers and processed products thereof can be scoured by immersing in solutions of these compositions.
