Abstract:
A phase derivation-based optical component delay measurement method comprises: determining, according to a measurement requirement, a frequency sweep range in advance, and selecting multiple frequency sweep points therefrom; modulating, at each of the frequency sweep points, an optical carrier wave by using a microwave modulation of a frequency of the frequency sweep point, and measuring, by using a phase detector, a phase change of the microwave modulation signal after the modulation signal propagates through an optical component under test; performing phase unwrapping on a series of phase changes obtained from measurements, and calculating, by using an unwrapped phase of each of the frequency sweep points obtained from the phase unwrapping, whole-cycle ambiguity of a maximum frequency sweep point, and calculating a delay of the optical component under test according to the whole-cycle ambiguity of the maximum frequency sweep point. Further disclosed is a phase derivation-based optical component delay measurement device. The method and device significantly reduce the number of frequency sweep points, thereby improving measurement efficiency, and mitigating the influence of environment errors on measurements.
