Abstract:
A phosphor which comprises an alkaline earth metal aluminate phosphor activated with europium, characterized in that the atomic composition ratio thereof measured by the XPS is the same as the composition ratio measured by the mass analysis method; and a method for preparing the above phosphor which comprises a step of firing raw materials for the phosphor by heating in a heating furnace while fluidizing or rotating them, to form an alkaline earth metal aluminate phosphate phosphor activated with europium having an atomic composition ratio thereof measured by the XPS being the same as a composition ratio measured by the mass analysis method. The above phosphor exhibits a luminescence of high luminance by the excitation with a vacuum ultraviolet ray and also is reduced in the decrease of the luminance thereof due to a heating process or the like.
