Abstract:
This photoelectric conversion element comprises a conductive supporting body, a photosensitive layer that contains an electrolyte, a charge transfer layer that contains an electrolyte, and a counter electrode. The photosensitive layer contains fine semiconductor particles, each of which supports a metal complex dye represented by formula (I). This dye-sensitized solar cell comprises the above-described photoelectric conversion element. M(LD)(LA)·(CI) (I) In the formula, M represents a metal ion; each of LD and LA represents a specific heterocyclic tridentate ligand; and CI represents a counter ion necessary for neutralizing the electrical charge.
