Abstract:
A phototube (100) suitable for detecting a photon (101), comprising: an electron ejector (108) configured for emitting electrons (109) in response to an incident photon (101); a detector (110) configured for collecting the electrons (109) and providing an output signal representative of the incident photon (101); an electrode (104) configured for applying a voltage to drive the electrons (109) to the detector (110); and one or more sidewalls (105) forming an envelope of a hole(107) between the electrode (104) and the detector (110), wherein the electron ejector (108)is inside the hole (107) and bonded to the electrode (104).
