Abstract:
A plant capsule formulation having high EPA content, comprising a functional formulation, and a capsule shell for wrapping the functional formulation. The functional formulation comprises at least 95% by mass of EPA and/or EPA alkyl esters. The capsule shell is a sealed structure and is not soluble in the functional formulation. The capsule shell is made from a first formula or a second formula. The first formula consists of a film-forming material, a humectant and water. In the first formula, the mass ratio of the film-forming material, the humectant and water is 1: 0.2-0.5: 1-1.4. The second formula consists of a hydroxypropyl starch, a plant gum, a plasticizer, and water. In the second formula, the mass percentage of the hydroxypropyl starch is 21% to 27%, the mass percentage of the plant gum is 11% to 13%, the mass percentage of the plasticizer is 19% to 29%, and the mass percentage of water is 35% to 45%. The capsule shell is a plant capsule shell, and the water content of the capsule shell is between 8% and 12%.
