Abstract:
Plant growing mat (10) is formed by consolidating wood fragments (1) as a main raw material, the wood fragments (1) obtained by crushing raw wood or timber, with the use of an adhesive such as a thermosetting resin adhesive. The plant growing mat (10) is constituted of a single layer of, with respect to raw material composition, all the raw materials containing the wood fragments (1). Granular coal (3) and adhesive (4) containing fertilizer effect components for leaves can be added as raw materials. The properties of mat upper part (1A) and mat under part (1B) can be altered by heating condition regulation so that acceleration of plant root taking and inhibition of root protrusion outside the mat can be controlled. These realize advantageous effects with respect to biodegradability, production process simplification, production cost, utilization expansion, etc. In particular, see Fig. 1.
