Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a pneumatic tire (22) capable of achieving a low fitting pressure without losing tightening force. [Solution] This tire (22) comprises a pair of beads (30) and a carcass (32) bridging between both beads (30). Each bead (30) comprises a core (48). The core (48) comprises: a main body (56) including cords (60) that extend in the circumferential direction; and an expansion/contraction section (58) comprising a cross-linked rubber. The expansion/contraction section (58) is positioned on the inside of the main body (56), in the axial direction. In a cross-section of the beads (30), the expansion/contraction section (58) is large enough to include at least one cross-section of the cords (60). Ideally, the main body (56) comprises a hard unit and a soft unit, in this tire (22). The soft unit is positioned on the outside of the hard unit, in the radial direction. Hard cords in the hard unit are more easily stretched than soft cords in the soft unit.
