Title:
POLARIZATION MULTIPLEXED LIGHT TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION CIRCUIT
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/196216
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a polarization multiplexed light transmission/reception circuit with which it is possible to compensate for PDL on the transmission side having mitigated a decrease in transmission power, and to make variable the branching ratio of light from a light source with respect to a transmission side and a reception side, depending on the system used. The polarization multiplexed light transmission/reception circuit is provided with: a light variable branching circuit (202) which branches light output from a light source; a light fixed symmetric branching circuit (204) connected to one output of the variable light branching circuit and a light fixed asymmetric branching circuit (206) connected to the other output thereof; optical receivers (106, 108) respectively connected to two outputs of the light fixed symmetric branching circuit; optical transmitters (156, 158) connected to two outputs of the light fixed asymmetric branching circuit; a polarization rotator (164) connected to one of the optical transmitters; and a polarization combiner (166) which polarization-combines the outputs of the optical transmitters.
