Abstract:
The present invention provides a polarizing film which has a low profile, which maintains optical characteristics, and for which dimensional changes are suppressed. This polarizing film is constituted by a polyvinyl alcohol resin film containing iodine. The unit transmissivity of the polarizing film is at least 43.0%. An alignment characteristic index (P-98)/F of the polarizing film is at least 7, as calculated from a degree of polarization P and an alignment index F.
