Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a polarizing plate, a circularly polarizing plate, and a polarizing plate capable, when used in a self-light-emitting display device that uses, for example, an inorganic EL element and an organic EL element, of both achieving an external light antireflection effect and improving utilization efficiency of light emitted by a light-emitting element. The polarizing plate comprises an alignment film and a polarizer layer that includes a dichroic dye. The polarizing plate also has a plurality of through-holes penetrating the alignment film and the polarizer layer, and has a light transmittance of 80% or less in a portion where the alignment film and the polarizer layer are present.
