[Problem] To provide a polyester-resin-coated metal sheet in a beverage can, a food can, or another such container and/or a container lid, the polyester-resin-coated metal sheet being exceptional in terms of impact resistance, moldability, retort adhesion, and other such properties while also making it possible to suppress the occurrence of retort blushing (formation of white spots). [Solution] A polyester-resin-coated metal sheet characterized by having a metal sheet 1 and a polybutylene terephthalate layer A laminated so as to be in contact with at least one side of the metal sheet 1, the ratio R of the X-ray diffraction intensity of a (100) surface and the X-ray diffraction intensity of a (1-11) surface of the polybutylene terephthalate layer A being within the range of 1.3-6.6. In the X-ray diffraction intensity of the (100) surface, the diffraction angle 2θ has a maximum value confirmed to be in the range of 23.0-24.0°. In the X-ray diffraction intensity of the (1-11) surface, the diffraction angle 2θ has a maximum value confirmed to be in the range of 25.0-26.0°. The ratio R of the X-ray diffraction intensities satisfies the relationship R = (diffraction intensity of (100) surface)/(diffraction intensity of (1-11) surface).
