Abstract:
Provided is a polymer lighting arrester, comprising: a non-linear resistor; two electrodes (14a) arranged on the outside of both axial direction ends of the non-linear resistor and having rod-receiving holes (20) formed therein; insulating rods (19) having both ends thereof inserted into the rod-receiving holes (20) and that link together the electrodes (14a) by attracting the electrodes (14a) to each other; wedges (22) disposed in the rod-receiving holes (20) on the outside of the insulating rods (19) and sandwiched between the insulating rods (19) and electrodes (14a), the wedges having a shape whereby the radial direction thickness thereof increases toward outside the axial direction; coating materials (21) interposed between the wedges (22) and insulating rods (19); and an insulating outer coat (31) covering the outside of the non-linear resistor and insulating rods (19). The Young's modulus of the material forming the coating materials (21) is less than that of the material forming the wedges (22).
