Provided are: an adhesive composition which uses a polyolefin polymer, has high holding power, and does not leave adhesive residue; and an adhesive tape which uses this adhesive composition. A polyolefin which satisfies the following conditions (a-1), (b1) and (b2). (a-1) The relationship between the limiting viscosity and the tacticity is represented by formula (i). -20 × η + 56 ≤ mmmm ≤ -20 × η + 64 (i) (In the formula, η represents a limiting viscosity as measured in a tetralin solution at 135°C, and mmmm represents a mesopentad fraction (mol%).) (b1) The mesopentad fraction (mmmm) is 20-60 mol%. (b2) The limiting viscosity [η] as measured in a tetralin solution at 135°C is 0.01-2.0 dl/g.
