Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a polyolefin microporous film which is suitable as a separator for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery and can impart safety and impact resistance to the battery, and with which costs can be kept down by producing the microporous film consistently through the sequential stretching method without going through a plurality of processes such as a lamination process. [Solution] This polyolefin microporous film has a first peak melting point of more than 137°C and no more than 140°C detected by differential scanning calorimetry during a first temperature increase, a second peak melting point of at least 145°C, and a latent heat of fusion at the second peak of at least 0.5 and less than 1.0, where the latent heat of fusion at the first peak is 1.0.
