Abstract:
Provided is a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin composition that is useful as a dispersion stabilizer suited to obtaining resin particles having microscopic and highly uniform particle sizes, high bulk specific gravity, and appropriate plasticizer absorption properties, during suspension polymerization of a vinyl-based compound such as vinyl chloride. The polyvinyl alcohol-based resin composition comprises a modified vinyl alcohol-based polymer (A) wherein a polyoxyalkylene unit represented by general formula (I) is bonded to a polyvinyl alcohol chain, and a modified vinyl alcohol-based polymer (B) having a double-bond in the polyvinyl alcohol chain. (In the formula, R1 and R2 each independently represent a methyl group or an ethyl group or a hydrogen atom, and R3 represents an alkyl group or a hydrogen atom; n is an integer representing the number of repeating units and satisfies the relationship: 5 ≤ n ≤ 70.)
