Abstract:
Provided is a polyvinyl alcohol film roll which is suited to increase in the width and length of a polyvinyl alcohol film, which delivers a film of a uniform quality, and which is capable of providing a polarizing film that has excellent polarization performance and appearance characteristics. This polyvinyl alcohol film roll is obtained by winding a polyvinyl alcohol film for optical applications around a cylindrical core tube. The core tube is formed of an aluminum alloy, and the aluminum alloy has a copper content of 0.15-0.5% by weight, a manganese content of 0.04-0.8% by weight, a chromium content of 0.01-0.5% by weight and a zinc content of 0.01-0.5% by weight.
