Abstract:
Provided are porous cellulose particles that have prescribed openings on the surface thereof and a prescribed particle size, and contain chitosan. Also provided is a production method for said particles. The porous cellulose particles contain chitosan and unsubstituted cellulose and in said particles: the chitosan content is no more than 20 mass% of the total 100 mass% of the unsubstituted cellulose and the chitosan; pores that are 0.05-5 μm in diameter are observed in an image obtained by observing the surfaces of the porous cellulose particles using a scanning electron microscope; and the ratio of porous cellulose particles with a particle size of 10-200 μm is at least 90 mass%.
