Abstract:
The present invention provides porous membranes for use on lateral flow assays. The membrane comprises a protein-binding region and a low non-specific protein binding support. The protein-binding region may be comprised of phase-inverted polyvinylidene fluoride and the low non-binding support is a cellulose or modified cellulose. The membrane has particular utility for use in biological testing kits such as but not limited to virus tests, pregnancy tests and illegal drug tests.
