Abstract:
A portable terminal (1) is provided with: a short-range wireless communication unit (101) that carries out short-range wireless communication with consumer electronics tags (201, 202) provided to an external appliance (2); a determination unit (107) that determines the state of communication between the short-range wireless communication unit (101) and the consumer electronics tags (201, 202), on the basis of the response result from the consumer electronics tags (201, 202) that have carried out short-range wireless communication with the short-range wireless communication unit (101); a display unit (110); and a UI generation unit (109) that displays a display screen corresponding to the determined communication status on the display unit. In accordance with the proximity of the portable terminal (1) to the external appliance (2), the determination unit (107) determines a first state of communication, a second state of communication different to the first state of communication, or a third state of communication different to the first and second state of communication as a state of communication. The UI generation unit (109) displays, on the display unit (110), a display screen corresponding to the respective state of communication among the first to third states of communication determined by the determination unit (107).
