Abstract:
A pose monitoring apparatus for a geosteering system, comprising: a second pose measurement module (55), provided on a quasi-static platform and measuring a gravity tool face angle of the quasi-static platform, the quasi-static platform being in a non-rotating bias unit in a static bias rotating geosteering system or a directional motor stator end in a directional motor geosteering system, and the second pose measurement module (55) comprising at least one second acceleration measurement sub-module which comprises at least two acceleration sensors (151) that can measure a radial acceleration component of the quasi-static platform; a rotary measurement module (210), provided on the quasi-static platform and/or a drive shaft, and configured to measure relative rotation data of the quasi-static platform and the drive shaft; and a calculating device (214), configured to calculate, according to the obtained gravity tool face angle and the relative rotation data, a gravity tool face angle of a logging-while-drilling instrument that rotates synchronously with the drive shaft. Also disclosed is a monitoring method using the apparatus. The apparatus and the method make the pose monitoring result of the logging-while-drilling instrument more accurate.
