Abstract:
A power conversion system (10) comprises: a self-exciting power converter (2) which carries out power conversion between an AC system (12) and a DC line (14); an AC breaker (17) which is provided between the AC system (12) and the self-exciting power converter (2); arresters (41P, 41N) each of which is connected between the DC line (14) and a ground or between an AC line that connects the AC breaker (17) with the self-exciting power converter (2) and the ground; and a control device (3). When a ground fault is detected in the DC line (14), the control device (3) terminates a switching operation of the self-exciting power converter (2), and opens the AC breaker (17) after the termination of the switching operation of the self-exciting power converter (2).
